An original sampler of double-weave in cornflower blue and white with a label that reads "Plymouth Carding Mill - The Edison Institute" from Dearborn, Michigan. Hand woven in wool on a multi-harness loom, double weave shows the same design on both sides with the colors reversed. This technique was used in early American woven coverlets. Excellent condition. |

Floral applique quilt. Hand made of 100% cotton circa the 1930's. Each floral motif was hand embroidered and the all-over quilting pattern echoes the flower and leaf shapes. Muslin background and backing. Pink bias binding on edge was partially machine sewn. In lovely condition. Minor surface soiling to pink edge only. |
